The New York Times bestselling authors of Mrs. Kennedy and Me share the stories behind the five infamous, tragic days surrounding JFK’s assassination, published in remembrance of the beloved president on the fiftieth anniversary of his death.
Clint Hill will forever be remembered as the lone secret service agent who jumped onto the car after President Kennedy was shot, clinging to its sides as it sped toward the hospital. Even now, decades after JFK’s presidency, the public continues to be fascinated with the Kennedys—America’s royal family. To mark the fiftieth anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, Hill recounts his indelible memories of those five days leading up to, and after, that tragic day in November 1963. Hill, as Jackie’s guard, experienced those days firsthand. Hill provides a moment-to-moment narration evoking the feelings and emotions behind the images—clearing up the persistent conspiracy misconceptions along the way.
Told movingly by a man who still wishes he could undo it all, Five Days in November is a rare and deeply personal look at the assassination that affected the entire world and changed the United States forever.

From Publishers Weekly
What this book—whose contents we've waited 50 years for—lacks in artistry, it makes up for in immediacy. Hill was one of the Secret Service agents beside J.F.K.'s car at the time of his assassination, and he managed to clamber onto the trunk in an attempt to protect the chief executive and his wife. Hill continues to feel guilty over the president's death. His account offers new, minute details of the events in Dallas and Washington, D.C., immediately before and after J.F.K.'s death. Sometimes those details are unnecessary and his precise recollection of them seems difficult to believe. But the book's photographs—some rare, some probably never seen before—are a particular strength. Astonishingly, however, none of them is captioned, nor are any of the locations, figures, or events in them identified. This inexplicable omission is unlikely to dent the book's appeal to aficionados of the period. But for those less knowledgeable about the Camelot era and its tragic end, the lack of captions represents a lost opportunity. (Nov.)
Review
"A riveting, stunning narrative...among hundreds of books about the assassination, this is the most compelling because Hill lived it." (Herald-Review)
“Chronology, photographs and personal knowledge combine to make a memorable commemorative presentation.” (Kirkus)
"With clear and honest prose free of salaciousness and gossip, Hill (ably assisted by McCubbin) evokes not only a personality both beautiful and brilliant, but also a time when the White House was filled with youth and promise. Of the many words written about Jacqueline Kennedy, these are among the best." (Kirkus starred review of Mrs Kennedy and Me)
"[Mrs. Kennedy and Me] conveys a sense of honesty and proves to be an insightful and lovingly penetrating portrait of the Jacqueline Kennedy that Hill came to know.” (USA Today (3 1/2 stars))
"Talk about being unable to put a book down; I was enthralled with this memoir from start to finish." (Liz Smith on Mrs. Kennedy and Me)

Five Days In November
By Bill Gordon Jr
Excellent book from someone who was actually there, and had to live through the horror and sorrow of that weekend first hand. He tells the story not just as the professional that he was and still is, but also as one who's humanity and feelings show through, in the book. I can not begin to imagine how bad it was for him from the last shot, through the rest of the weekend trying to both protect an comfort Jackie & the kids afterwords. But yet he does so with dignity and grace matched only by Jackie herself. Great book, I recommend it to all.

I remember
By Mimi Rigg
A very revealing and intimate details about the end of American innocence and Camelot. I have always wondered how the men on the presidential detail on November 22, 1963 dealt with the tragedy. Knowing that they reacted as Mr. Hill did, with stoic public emotions, and heartbreaking private emotions. The second half of the book, dealing with the aftermath of the tragedy, especially regarding the kids, had me reaching for the tissues. Thank you, Mr. Hill, I know how hard the details were for you to remember but know your book will help others reach some closure regarding that terrible time.

Excellent read
By DobeLvr
This book was excellent. Well written, riveting. So many details of the five days that only a witness could report. Mr. Hill was an eye witness to a major tragedy in our history. Telling this story must have been excruciating for the secret service agent, but his telling gives us insight into the Kennedy admin, Mrs. Kennedy, and the time in history that changed America.
